The minimonkey baby sling is a fantastic sling that is easy to use and extremely comfortable for both the baby and the carrier!
I used the sling for my 4 month old and found it to be most effective in helping to calm him and also to help him sleep when he was unsettled. (Also gave me a bit of peace and quite, even if I was carrying him around!!)
I have used the sling in both the ‘Banana’ position (laying across your body cocooned in the sling) when trying to settle bub and the ‘Kangaroo’ position (bub sits in front just like he is in mama’s pouch!) My little Joey thought the Kangaroo position was fantastic walking around the shops – he could sit up and have a good look around – and I felt comfortable that his head still had good support. It was so much easier having him in the sling rather than carrying him (he isn’t too keen on the pram!)
For me the sling was very comfortable – I felt like I had good support. It does take a bit of practice getting bub in and out of the sling, but once you have done it a few times, you will be a pro! I would suggest doing as the website says and practicing a few times with a doll to get the hang of it.
The minimonkey website has some great demos showing you the different positions you can put your bub into and how to do it – I found this to be most helpful.
I will definitely continue to use the minimonkey sling with my bub. It can be used from newborn up to 15kgs.
I would also highly recommend the minimonkey sling to all new mum’s and dad’s!
